Meet the team: Paul Verdier 🇫🇷
Audio Post-Production Engineer, France
Hello there,
I’m Paul, born and raised in the beautiful city of Biarritz, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees.
At Native Prime, I like to think of myself as the Audio French Swiss Army knife. Depending on the project, I can move from project management to recordings, raw sound engineering, or audio post-production. Some days I’m working on the preparation before recording sessions, other days I’m deep in post-production polishing the final audio. That flexibility is part of what makes the world of audio localization so wonderful.
My first memories with video games go all the way back to Crash Bandicoot on PS1 — and I have to admit that The Boulder Dash Theme still haunts me to this day.
Before diving into audio, I actually spent quite a long time studying Literature, Archaeology, and Art History. But the turn was made when I decided to part ways with the École du Louvre, when I realized that being Indiana Jones was not a suitable career plan.
So I turned to my second passion: audio.
It started with music, then sound design, and eventually led me to what I consider the most beautiful instrument of all — the human voice. 🗣️
I’ve always loved stories, telling them and listening to them. I believe that you can convey emotions no matter the medium that you choose, from ancient mythology to modern-day comics. For me, that medium ended up being video games, where audio and visuals come together to create immersive worlds players can truly experience.
When I’m not behind the mixing console or the scripts, you’ll find me on the turf, wearing cleats and shoulder pads. I’ve been playing American Football for more than 15 years, and it has taught me a lot about resilience, discipline, and teamwork. Qualities that I thrive to apply at work!
Knowing that what I do allows people to dream, escape, and experience emotions through games makes me extremely proud. 😊
I’ll leave you with a quote from Joseph Campbell that resonates with me:
“Myths are public dreams; dreams are private myths.”
