Meet the team: Gabriele Vegetti 🇮🇹
Localization Team Lead, Italy
Hello everyone, I’m Gabriele. I like to joke that I’m one of the “oldest” here — not just by age, but by how long I’ve been part of Native Prime. I was around even before it officially existed, and in some way helped shape what it is today.
Born in Bologna in 1967, proud dad of two. My background has always sat between two worlds: tech (I have a degree in programming) and the humanities (philosophy, with a love for language).
Those worlds naturally blended, along with my interests: video games, sci-fi, comics, music… basically, yes, I’m a nerd. 🎮
That blend carried over into my professional life as well. I first collaborated with a small game development startup, where I worked on plots and storyboards for adventure games. Not long after, almost by chance, I stepped into game localization while working with a major Italian distributor. It was an exciting time — the job itself was still being invented.
During the second half of the ’90s, I had the privilege of working with big publishers on amazing titles, especially with LucasArts: Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Star Wars, and more.
In the early 2000s, I felt it was time to stand on my own feet, so I founded my own localization company: Orange Studio. I needed strong audio expertise, which led me to Studio Arkì and Nicola Zonca.
That collaboration eventually grew into Native Prime, together with Diana, Vincent, and Friedrich. The rest is our shared story. 🌿
Looking back, it all feels meant to be — and I’m still enjoying the ride.
